Nightly Beauty Rituals

Having some kind of nightly ritual for your skin is so important!

So many companies and websites have discussed the importance of going to bed with healthy, clean skin. These companies include: Allure Magazine, RealSimple, Fitness Magazine, and I found this awesome article on Huffington Post

“According to researchers at the University of California-Irvine, new skin cells grow faster while you sleep, so a good evening facial routine should be a high priority. At night, the goal is to repair damage from the day’s pollution, sun and stress, as well as to hydrate since you lose more water from your skin as you snooze, according to cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Doris Day.”

Since I am a skin care addict, I thought I would share my nightly beauty routine!

#1 – Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleaning Towelettes – I’m one of those people who shower at night. So, I normally get all my make up form the day off in the shower. However, if I ever have any left over eye makeup (such a pain to get off), I use these towelettes and I love them! Burt’s Bees has always been a favorite of mine and the fact that they have an entire line for sensitive skin makes me like this company more!

#2 – LeeAnni Eco Go Away Gloomy Day – This stuff is amazing! It goes on so smoothly and is so light on my skin. I use it before my moisturizer and it has really helped my skin look brighter and just feel better. Also, I love products that have fun names!

#3 – Tucker Ashley Advanced Peptide Eye Complex – I got this Tucker Ashley product from subscribing to Ipsy. A little bit goes a long way with this particular product, which I love. I have never used an eye cream regularly before and this one has definitely made me realize how much I need one! I use it every morning and night and I am so sad my sample is almost gone!

#4 – Tucker Ashley Perfecting Moisturizer – I also got this product from Ipsy. I try out different moisturizers often because I love trying things out and finding new products I love. In the past, I have used Alba Botanica; but, when I got this in the mail, I was so excited to try it out! This moisturizer is so light on my skin and does not make me feel greasy or oily at all! I may have to purchase this again when my sample runs out 😉

So, this is my nightly routine! I stick to it every night, which I think is important, and then I have a different routine for the morning. Does anyone have any other tips or thoughts for what you do at night for your skin? Hope you had fun learning about some products I love!

It’s true! So I am not the most creative person but I love making things. Recently my sister started getting into crocheting and other fun DIY stuff so I talked her into starting an Etsy shop with me! Right now, there are just a couple pieces of jewelry that I have made but my sister and I are adding more within the next couple days so check it out!

Also, I would love to hear the kinds of things you guys like to look for when you shop online. Jewelry? Clothing? Items for the home? I would love to hear feedback.

If you want to go check our shop out, please do!

Thanks everyone!

2016 Goals and Bucket List

So for 2016, I couldn’t think of one specific resolution I wanted to make (I’m bad at picking just one thing). So, instead, I made a Bucket List of things I want to do this year and a list of personal goals I want to accomplish. *Note* List is subject to be added to.

Bucket List

Zipline! (probably Sundance Resort in Utah but I won’t be too picky!)

Hike Mt. Timpanogos

Visit Timpanogos Cave (this is different from the one above)

Visit the Ice Castles in Midway, Utah

Go to a National Park

See a play, musical, concert, or ballet

Be more diligent about writing in my journal

Create something

Learn a language

Read the Book of Mormon (again!)

Read 3 church-related/spiritual books

Try something new!

2015 : Year in Review (part 2)

~ 2015 Year in Review ~

June Thru December

June- I married the love of my life and it was the best day ever! Well… the other days after that have been pretty good too. So, I guess that day was the beginning of the best days ever.

July- We spent our honeymoon in Zion National Park and it was absolutely perfect. We got to go on hikes, adventures, relax, and eat delicious food. It even rained for a couple days so we got to lay in bed, leave the windows open, and listen to the rain.

August- At the beginning of the month, we went to Southern California because Wesley was a groomsman in his best friend’s wedding. He looks great in a tux 😉 At the end of the month, we went to St. George, Utah for my best friend’s mission farewell. She is now serving a religious mission in South Korea!

September- I have some of the greatest friends in the whole world. One of those friends won tickets to be in the pit at Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour in Salt Lake City. It was so much fun and you can check out more pictures here!

October- My parents came to town so we could go to the General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We got to spend a few days together and hear some inspiring words. It was a lovely time and I love spending time with my family.

November- Wesley’s parents came to visit us for Thanksgiving. It was awesome hanging out with them and I am so grateful that my mom-in-law taught me to make a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

December- our first Christmas as a married couple! We went to Northern California to spend Christmas with my parents, my older sister and her husband and babies, and my baby sister who I had not seen in a year! It was a great end to the year and I loved spending Christmas with my family and my amazing husband.

2015 : Year in Review (part 1)

It’s 2016! Normally at the end of the year, I am so ready for the year to be over and beyond excited for a brand new year. Although I am excited for 2016 and the adventures that await, I gotta be honest- 2015 was awesome and I am going to miss it.

I thought my first couple posts of the year would be a review of 2015 and then I could do a post of goals for 2016! So without any further ado…

~ 2015 Year in Review ~

January thru May

January – This was the first New Years I ever spent alone. And I mean like actually alone. I rang in the New Years sitting on my couch, watching Once Upon a Time, and drinking a giant soda. I was away from family and I lived in a college town so all my roommates/friends were back in their hometowns. I spent the next few days alone completely ‘cleansing’ myself. I did yoga, threw away junk, cleaned and organized my space, and made goals for the year. It was a good start to the year.

February – Babe drove from California to Utah to visit me for our first Valentines Day together (we had dated for years but always happened to be apart on February 14th). AND we had not seen each other in a year because I moved to Utah and then he went on a religious mission. So this was like the best Valentines Day!

March – My friend loves videography and she got a sweet job doing a marketing video for a kid’s clothing company. It was such a blast helping her out with the video and making sure the kids were happy.

April – the love of my life moved to Utah and then asked me to be his wife. April was full of planning and getting work off for the California Wedding and road trip honeymoon.

May – London and Paris. Dream come true.
